Lyons Valley Townhomes Hosts Celebration

CHFA had the privilege of taking part in the grand opening of Lyons Valley Townhomes in April. Developed by Summit Housing Group, Lyons Valley Townhomes includes 40 affordable rental homes for households with incomes at 60 percent of Area Median Income (AMI) and below. This is the first development supported with Housing Tax Credits to be built in Lyons, and the project was initially planned in response to the housing lost because of the 2013 flood disaster.

CHFA was proud to support Lyons Valley Townhomes with an award of $438,073 in federal 4 percent Housing Tax Credits in 2019 as well as a $10,832,000 CAPABLE loan providing construction-to-permanent financing. CHFA’s Chief Operating Officer Steve Johnson delivered remarks on CHFA’s behalf at the event.

White Paper Published on Housing Continuum

In April, CHFA published a new white paper about the housing continuum. A housing continuum is a visual tool that illustrates the range of available housing options in a community, from short-term shelters for those experiencing homelessness to long-term home ownership and everything in between. Included in the publication is research about Area Median Incomes (AMIs) from various regions of the state, employment wages, and where various professions may fall on the housing continuum based on earnings.

The white paper also illustrates how CHFA’s programs intersect with the different sectors of the housing continuum, and how CHFA’s work to strengthen Colorado by investing in affordable housing and economic development supports housing across the continuum. The white paper is published as a PDF on CHFA’s website in the Resource Library section.
